To help raise funds for the Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk on September 26th, the Arizona Ghostbusters teamed up with the local store chain Bookmans Entertainment Exchange. Bookmans specializes in new and used books, games, and music and is a great place to find many rare items. August was Movie Madness month in the store and each weekend had a different movie themed event. In honor of the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters, the chain had us appear and set up a booth at two of their store locations. The first store appearance was on Saturday August 22nd with Matt H, Christina, and Neal in attendance. The second was on Saturday August 29 with Cody, Neal, and Jeff. At each event, a small booth was set up with diabetes walk information, ghost candy, and small marshmallow bags. Our teams and the store employees handed out free raffle tickets to customers in the stores. The raffle items included both store merchandise and Ghostbusters collectables. Both store appearances were heavily promoted but we were still quite surprised to find lots of families waiting for us. We had some of the largest turnouts of families with children yet. Many of the parents told us their children played the game first and then wanted to see the film. I’m happy to report one of our biggest little fans won an original Real Ghostbusters Ghost Popper toy. Seeing that certainly brought back some memories. Instead of collecting donations for pictures with attendees, the store made a generous donation of $200 for our walk team. We’d like to thank Bookmans for these great opportunities to interact with fellow fans and for the donations.

awesome again jeff, dude and whats even funnier is that original GB toy, i bet that kid has no idea where if came from, what yr it was from and he was thinkin, who the hell played with primative toys like this lol

He was eyeballin it pretty hard. That's why the store actually just gave it to him. After we showed him how to use it he was popping it all over the store. We had to track down some of the foam pieces for him. I'm surprised it still had all of them after 20 some years.
