The Arizona Ghostbusters pulled double duty this last weekend. Our first event was the Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk on Saturday September 26th, 2009. Over the last couple of months our team did a great job collecting $500 in donations for the American Diabetes Association. We had a big showing at the walk with 7 of our suited up busters with family and friends in various Ghostbusters shirts. The walk was held at 6 pm at the Midwestern University Campus and covered 3 miles around the area. Luckily since fall has started the temps dropped to 103 degrees. During the walk we handed out “Diabetesbuster” stickers and sugar free candy ghosts. It was a great event with a huge turnout.
On Sunday September 27th, 2009 members from the Arizona Ghostbusters volunteered at the Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Day at Chase Field during an Arizona Diamondbacks game. The local chapter of the MS Society set up a booth to promote the upcoming MS Walk on November 7th we’re participating in. Proceeds from tickets sales went to the MS Society. As always the fans were great.
