I see that Master Replicas making scaled replicas as well, so I hope they're not making scaled replicas of the trap and/or proton pack to lower the price.

Diamond is set to make a full size Star Trek captain's chair for over a thousand each. So a large prop is possible, but very unlikely. Proton packs have always been known to be unique and people have always had alot of respect for people building them out of spare parts in their garage, mainly because that's what they did in the movie. The official star wars props haven't taken much away from the fan made ones and are really only for obsessive collectors, so I don't think a mass made proton pack will affect us too much, but still, those of us that have spent years researching and making pack after pack might be alittle frustrated with an official one coming out. Really I doubt an official one will be as nice as alot of the fan made props. We often tell people ours are better than the movie ones because they were built to last through alot of abuse. The movie ones were made for one or two scenes at most.

No word yet, the fear is a scaled down one. The bigger fear is a full size made with fan parts without permission.

No one wants to see their work recast. Especially by a major company. It happens quite often, especially when the original prop is extremely damaged or lost. It's why my team does not sell any of the parts we make.

Fan parts without permission. lol Probably the fans will get sued making parts without permission but that doesn't mean the official licensed trap will look better. lol

So far GB fans have been under the radar. Stormtrooper armor builders have been sued before.
