WTFFFFFFFUUUUUUCK
A reboot? Why not call it "Predator 3" or "Predators" instead?
Robert Rodriguez Up for a Predator Reboot?
It seems another 80s classic reboot is in the works in Hollywood. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Robert Rodriguez will be producing a new remake of Predator for his Troublemaker Studios banner and 20th Century Fox.
Some information was also dropped about the film's plot, indicating there would be more than one Predator in the film.
"In the reboot a team of commandoes face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters," the site's source said.
It also wasn't clear whether Rodriguez would be directing, or just producing the film. We'll certainly keep you posted on any and all updates surrounding this new film project.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Another 80s action staple is on track to be rebooted. IESB is reporting that director Robert Rodriguez has announced plans to reboot the Arnold Schwarzenegger action film, Predator.
The director made the announcement at his Troublemaker Studios, where Texas politicians signed a reform bill to the state's film incentive program. Here's what the director said at the press conference.
"I'm going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called Nervewrackers, a re-boot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2 and The Jetsons."
The site also confirmed that Rodriguez was indeed directing and producing the Predator remake, and it will be his own take on the original concept.

The Predator movies are also one of my favorite movies, they already fucked it up with combining the two legendary creatures in AVP and AVPR and now they gonna remake, reboot (or what the hell they would call it) the first movie another good example that the movie industry doesn't give a fuck about the fans.
They already have a release date:
Predator Release Date Already Set for Summer 2010
It didn't take long for a new remake to set its release date. According to eRc Box Office, a July 7, 2010 release date has already been set for Robert Rodruigez's remake of Predator.
"Predators" promises to be "a bold new chapter in the Predator universe," stated a press release from Fox. It was also said that the production would take place in Rodriguez's facility in Austin, TX. It also said that, while he is shepherding the project, he won't write or direct the film, as a writer and director are currently being sought out.
He talks about the treatment that he wrote that was set on a jungle-like Predator planet. They're trying to find a writer and director but it's unknown whether the movie will be based on his treatment.
"...With a nod toward Cameron's ALIENS I decided to call it PREDATORS. I set it on a jungle-like Predator planet. It was just a writing assignment, so I didn't have to worry about budget constraints or how the movie would actually get made with the technology that existed back then, so I just wrote any cool thing I could come up with.
Fast forward 15 years to when I got a call from Alex Young over at Fox, who had been digging around and found my original treatment. He was eager to get it made and re-invent the Predator franchise using the treatment as a guide. So he contacted me to see if I'd be interested in being involved, and it seemed like the perfect project for us over at Troublemaker Studios..."
Arnie gets a mention but they haven't approached him about making some kind of appearance. There's also a little info about the rating. Rodriguez says they haven't discussed the rating yet but his treatment was very "R".
