I Heard Even Arnold might make an appearance as one of John Connors closets friends and he gets killed and that is what they model the Terminator after........the skin over lay of the metallic robot....its unlikely bein he is now the govinator...but it very well may be possible

GBBigDawg, there is a scene from the T3:Rise of the Machines Game,it has Arnold playing a character called Sgt Candy,it explains where they pulled the endoskeleton skin from.
So I doubt they will have Arnold play one of John Conner's friends.

It's was also a deleted scene on the T3 DVD:
There are rumors that Austrian bodybuilder Roland Kickinger take over the role of the T-800 and maybe his face will be replaced with a CGI face of Arnold, there are even rumors that Linda Hamilton will be back in T4 and here is McG talking about Arnold back in T4:
Arnold Schwarzenegger Spotted on the Terminator: Salvation Set
Hope all is well. You never seemed to run with the email i sent you containing the Terminator 4 Salvation images which WB released a week later. [I never got that e-mail, I don't think -Ed.] Noneytheless, i've got a sneak peak for you which will make your day. Please find attached an Image of the Governator and John Connor meeting for the first time, yes it was on the set of T4.
I should make it clear, i have varous contacts in WB and from what i've been told the fans are in for a treat. The premise of Arnie's involvement is to have a fully rendered digital face of Arnie replacing the recently cast Roland Kickinger (The Younger version of Arnie). It seems the Director Mc G will in no doubt try all he can to ensure the Governator has some sort of involvement and as a result Arnold was on set providing key ADR (Voice over) for the visual effects guys to reference during post production. You have to remember, Arnold's commitments are preventing his return to the movie business and this seems the best logical way to ensure his involvement.
You may recall Christopher Lee's face being embossed on a stunt double in the Star Wars prequels?, imagine that with Arnold and you will get the picture. With ILM's best on the scene, it looks like Mc G is trying to get a head start on James Cameron's photo realistic stereoscopic camera systems.
Sorry i wasnt here, i was on Vacation last week and myt moms internet sux balls lol, any way, i do remember that Arnold thing from the T3 extras, but if they use arnolds face, itll work for me lol
Yeah it's hard to think that the governator won't be a mjor character in the movie, and that kinda takes some of it reasons to watch it out for me, even though I will def. watch it. I am glad to hear he should at least make a cameo, in the movie I've wanted to see most since T2. With T3 being such a letdown, I just want this to make-up for it. I also would like to see a 5th movie depending on how this one ends, on perhaps what happens after they win the war.
Like do some of the machines still try to fight? I know they're all controlled by one main program, or machine or whatever. But they are techinically capable of thinking on their own and just as smart as humans, or smarter just without human emotions, and if their orginal programs states to kill humans, would they still try without updated orders. So maybe a 5th movie could be based on eliminating the rogue machines(where Arnold could make a comeback) and restoring life back to the way it was. Will they make it like it was before the war with all the tech and stuff, or maybe make it like it was in the 90's, or just do it as best they can without creating AI. Who knows, anyways it was just some thoughts, I'm hyped to see this movie and thanks for the info/previews.

James Cameron Says “Terminator Salvation” Might Not Suck!
In an email to AICN, James Cameron tried to explain his side of BlessingGate ‘08 and, in the process, just ended up punking McG’s Terminator Salvation again. Here’s an excerpt:
The truth is there never was a blessing to rescind, and there’s been some kind of misunderstanding between me and McG, perfectly innocent I believe. He asked me in a phone call when I was shooting in New Zealand earlier this year if I would be a supporter and creative participant in the new film. I said sure, send me the script and I’ll give you my thoughts. And I warned him that free advice is usually worth what you pay for it. For whatever reason I never got the script and to date I haven’t seen a foot of film other than what everybody’s seen in the trailer, which is not enough to form an opinion. So I have zero basis for supporting or dissing the film. As I said in an interview, for all I know it could be a masterpiece or it could be a big steaming pile. I think all people heard was the steaming pile part and concluded I was against the film, which I’m not. In fact, it might be very good, an opinion based solely on what Sam Worthington has shared with me.
Sam Worthington, of course, is the star of both Cameron’s upcoming Avatar and Terminator Salvation, but it sounds to me like someone’s a little miffed he still hasn’t been shown any footage of the latest sequel to the franchise he created. And just so nobody forgets the “steaming pile part” Cameron says was blown out of proportion last time, here’s how he ended his email this time: “Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that it’s not a steaming pile.”
