Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley Join The A-Team
Jessica Biel and Sharlto Copley are in final negotiations to join Fox's The A-Team, set to star opposite Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
According to Variety, Joe Carnahan is directing with Ridley Scott producing with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell. Skip Woods' script keeps the TV series premise of four wrongly convicted vets escaping from prison to become do-gooder mercenaries but carries a more serious tone than the small-screen version.
Production begins this fall in Vancouver.
Copley will portray helicopter pilot Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, a role originated by Dwight Schultz in the original series. Biel's set to play the ex-love of Cooper's character "Faceman," the general pursuing the team.
Neeson's set to play John "Hannibal" Smith, the role originated by George Peppard, and Jackson's on board as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, portrayed by Mr. T in the series.

First Look at the New A-Team Van
20th Century Fox has begun filming The A-Team in British Columbia, Canada and we've got your first peek at the new van being used for the movie. The production was using the van, which looks similar to the one used in the 1983-87 TV series, for chase scenes.
Opening in theaters on June 11, 2010, the big screen adaptation stars Liam Neeson as John "Hannibal" Smith, Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus. The roles were made famous by George Peppard, Dirk Benedict, Dwight Schultz and Mr. T, respectively, in the original series.
Also starring is Jessica Biel as an Army general pursuing the team, while Entertainment Weekly reports that Watchmen star Patrick Wilson has joined the cast as well as a CIA operative.
Below you can see the new van on the set followed by the van from the series.

New A-Team remake is in full flight as B.A. takes to the skies
A helicopter and the infamous black van feature in some of the first pics from the new A-Team film. The remake, which is being filmed in Canada, has just started filming after the final cast members were added last week. Jessica Biel, 27, is to be the leading lady in the feature, which has been adapted from the hit 80s TV series.
Fly guy: Fans will be upset to see Quinton Jackson (B.A. Baracus) riding in a helicopter in the new A-Team remake
She is joined by Liam Neeson, 57, who plays Hannibal, Bradley Cooper, 34 (Face), Sharlto Copley, 35 (Murdoch), Patrick Wilson, 36 (A CIA operative), and UFC fighter Quinton Jackson, 31 (B.A. Baracus).
In the pictures, taken on the film's Canadian set, we see the classic GMC van which was used in the 1980s programme. It was the A-Team's main mode of transport, which they often transformed into an armoured vehicle using makeshift tools and materials which they always conveniently came across in times of need.
Van with a plan: The iconic GMC van is seen on the set of the new A-Team movie, set to be released in late 2010
In another picture Quinton Jackson can be seen inside a helicopter, which appears to be some kind of emergency vehicle. Fans of the original show are likely to be slightly miffed at seeing his character, B.A., flying - as one of the show's running jokes was that he had a fear of flying. Other members of the team would come up with inventive ways to knock him out (such as a carton of milk laced with drugs), in order to get him onto a plane, usually preceeded by his catchphrase 'I ain't gettin' on no plane, fool'.
The new team: Bradley Cooper plays the A-Teams' resident ladies' man Face in the big screen remake - and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, who is the new B.A.
In fact, the choice of actor and the conception of the film itself has been the subject of much contention since the project was announced. Fans have debated the line-up for the film, and argued over whether the series should been remade in the first place, over the past year. Quinton Jackson in particular has been scrutinised, primarily by his UFC fans for retiring from the sport to pursue his acting career.
One heli of ride: Quinton Jackson is seen next to a helicopter in the A-Team remake which is being shot on location in Canada
But he has also faced criticism from fans of the TV show, because of his lack of acting experience and the irreplaceable quality of the original B.A. Baracus, Mr.T. However, as the photos show, no amount of outcry is going to stop the film going ahead with filming well under way.The movie is directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by the Scott brothers, Ridley and Tony. It's scheduled for release in late 2010.

Jessica Biel is gearing up to bring her A-game to The A-Team." The actress said in a recent interview with MTV News that if fans are expecting it to be anything like the TV show, they are in for a surprise. The movie will be much more serious in tone than the classic 80's action series.
"I think it will be a little bit similar here and there but we really have our own tone going on," she said. "It’s a little bit less campy than the actual show and a little bit more serious action and fighting sequences but still with lots of humor. Lots and lots of humor."
"I don’t know about [possible cameos] actually. Up to my knowledge at this point no," she said, adding that she'd like to see Mr. T play some kind of role. "That would be great. I can't imagine that people wouldn’t want to see him. When you think of A-Team you think of Mr. T, so that'd be great. I don’t know about it though."
Biel does know a thing or two about her character, Carissa Sosa (it's worth noting that IMDB lists her character's name as Amy Allen; perhaps IMDB has it wrong). "She works for the Department of Defense, so she's sort of after the A-Team throughout the whole movie," she said. "She had a previous relationship connection with one of the members of the A-Team, but not presently at the moment is their particular love interest."
We are pleased to inform you all that Dwight has actually already been working in Vancouver, where he has played a cameo role in The A-Team movie. Sharlto Copley, the South African actor who plays Murdock, is according to Dwight: 'brilliant beyond words'. Dwight has seen his screen test and he stated: that honestly, if Sharlto is given an opportunity to do what I saw in that test, "Murdock" will be better than ever!' Sharlto has been very kind to him on the set and Dwight must say that he has been treated very well.
Opening in theaters on June 11, the 20th Century Fox release also stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Quinton Jackson and Yul Vazquez.
