The blue-ray packaging is in the green slime motif. The two movie pack will come with a small container of green slime, a Stay-Puft figurine, and trading cards. There was a promo picture in the San Diego Comic-Con program guide. I'll try to get the picture scanned and posted up soon.

In the program guide for the 2007 comic-con they had a listing for a release of the two dvds with a figurine slated for release in October 07. No one ever talked about it on the boards that I saw. That idea must have been integrated into the blu-ray when it came about.

A little "Cthulhu in the red ex might do better, or even Hellboy"... in a bizarre crossover with broad appeal. I can see that now: "Egon vs. Hellboy"

Looks great, only the title looks a little bit too small.

The only reason why I would buy a blu-ray player (probably a PS3) is the fact that they're bringing out GHOSTBUSTERS. I remember when GB came out on DVD for the first time back in 97. Dvd players were new then and there was one and only reason why I wanted one...Ghostbusters! I mean all the extra stuff , behind the scenes and all and the high quality picture and sound! Now it's happening ALL OVER AGAIN...only this time with SUPERIOR HIGH QUALITY picture and sound (and hopefully some more extra goodies) on the BluRay. It's kinda funny. I didn't want to buy a PS3 cause none of the games looked appealing enough for me to want to get one. (Except for Metal Gear Solid 4 of course...) But that's like what? A $300-400 system for just one game? I'm not so sure if I want to do that yet...till now... The one thing that would make me get a PS3 is the fact that Ghostbusters is coming out to BluRay! And I would rather get a PS3 that comes with the BluRay Player than get just the player itself. At least the PS3 has a lot more too it than just the player...So yeah...GBs on BluRay! SWEET!! Oh, and I know that the GB Video Game is coming out to PS3 too. It's going to be a hard choice since I was originally going to get it for my Xbox360...tough decisions...

Maybe Sony is planning next year for the 25th anniversary of GB a "PS3 GB Pack" with PS3 game console, the GB video game and the 2 GB movies on blu-ray in it, then it wouldn't be a surprise it takes over the 360.

Okay... speaking of title announcements, here's an official one hot off the wires: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will indeed be releasing Ghostbusters on Blu-ray Disc on 6/16, in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary and timed to coincide with the release of Atari's Ghostbusters: The Video Game the same day. The Blu-ray (SLP $38.96) will include most (if not all) of the previous DVD extras, including audio commentary with Ivan Reitman, Harold Ramis and Joe Medjuck, 10 deleted scenes, storyboard comparisons and 3 featurettes (The Making of Ghostbusters, Interviews with Cast and Crew and SFX Team with before and after multi-angle explorations). New features for the Blu-ray include a Slimer Mode picture-in-picture viewing option (featuring an examination of the spook-hunters' firehouse headquarters, an in-depth exploration of the creatures in the Ghostbusters mythology, behind-the-scenes discussions of making the movie, new cast, crew and special effects artists interviews and much more), the Ecto-1: Resurrecting the Classic Car featurette, a Ghostbusters Garage: Ecto-1 Gallery and a 32-page scrapbook. The title will also include BD-Live connectivity, offering additional features (TBA). FYI, there's no official word yet on Ghostbusters 2, but we'll check on it. Sounds pretty cool. We'll post the cover art as soon as it comes in. Stay tuned!
